FAQ – the questions we’re asked most often about Backups and Disaster Recovery
What is difference between Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity?
It is all about how individuals and companies reduce the risk of a cybercrime or cyber-attack. Before all the digital computers and systems that everyone now uses every day. Organisations pretty much only had to worry about securing their physical paper data and their physical security. Installing precautions such as Burglar alarms, security keys, CCTV and shredding etc. Now, with all of the digital systems we use, we still need all of that, but in its digital equivalent form, which is what people would call “CyberSecurity”
Do I need a Backup?
If you were to think of all the precautions you would take for the physical nature of your data and buildings, think of the same but digital. We regularly write on our blogs. Some basic and highly recommend ways are Managed Anti-Virus and Firewall, DNS Filtering, Security Monitoring, Employee Security Training, Multi-Factor and more.
What do I need for Backups?
If everyone, including ourselves, had a limitless pot of money, of course we could recommend, install and use every new security tool and measure. Sadly, this is not true, we recommend everyone to do a Risk and Mitigation checklist. Every business is different, and the risks associated change too. However, we provide all the basic and even some advanced prevention techniques which we include as part of our MYLE Platform.
